Treating Fevers: A Bioregulatory & Multimodality Approach Part 1
Presented by
Samantha Bulloch ND, B.App.Sci – Nursing, Adv Cert NFM. Cert FET - Hons
Children are our most precious legacy … however the environmental & health legacy that we have left them in recent times is sobering to say the least. For the first time in human history we are approaching a time when parents will outlive their children; such is the decline in resilience and vitality along with an escalation of environmental toxins and chronic health disorders that our children must deal with.
Children are born with essentially immature immune systems and literally use banal childhood illnesses as an evolutionary & developmental process to train their innate immunity and the Th1 inflammatory arm (also responsible for fever) of their immune system. Society’s use of vaccination, antipyretics, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs to either avoid childhood illness’s or palliate their symptoms develops the propensity to develop Th2 “atopic” related illness patterns. Fevers are much maligned and feared – in the parental & orthodox medical communities alike; and as such are treated with antipyretic medications assertively and often unnecessarily.
As a passionate advocate of non suppressive medicine and with her background in parenting, paediatric nursing & environmental medicine Sam Bulloch is well placed to discuss the bioregulatory, clinical & therapeutic, ethical & attitudinal issues surrounding fevers in children.
In this two part module. Sam will provide you with empowering education, practical tips, a wealth of clinical & parent education resources as she weaves in mind body medicine and developmental psychology into antihomtoxic medicine, homeopathic, herbal & nutritional treatment protocols that will arm you with the knowledge & skill to educate, treat and nurture innate immunity and resilience in your littlest patients.
